Hmmm very interesting choice of colors, and I LOVE your choice for her kimono design 
Some technical tips: Now that you have a fair idea of how to shade, keep in mind that the way shadows are feathered depends on how close the object making the shadow is to the thing that the shadow lands on.
For example, if you observe under bright light the shadow of plate that is placed on a table, you'd see that the outline of the shadow of the plate on the table is sharp and more defined. If you left the plate farther from the table, you'd see that the outline of the shadow is less defined and more feathered/blurry.
